Thursday, June 28, 2012

600As a child growing up in Lafayette Don Grady developed a fondness for music and dancing, and in his early teens it landed him a spot doing both as a Mouseketeer on “The Mickey Mouse Club.” In later life he would become a successful composer and songwriter. But the actor who lived in Thousand Oaks north of Los Angeles and who died Wednesday at age 68 after a struggle with cancer will be most remembered for his role as Robbie Douglas, one of Fred McMurray’s mischievous but ever-polite boys in “My Three Sons.” Through 380 episodes from 1960 to 1972 on two networks, ABC and CBS, it became one of the longest-running sitcoms in TV history.
