As Silicon Valley CEOs go, Robert Pera isn’t a household name but he’s already one up on Larry Ellison. He just agreed to buy the Memphis Grizzlies, which Ellison tried to do. Pera, 34, a former Apple guy who heads San Jose-based wireless Internet company Ubuiquiti Networks, says he doesn’t plan to move the team from Memphis. That’s unlike Ellison, the Oracle chief, who wanted to bring the Griz to San Jose. Worth noting: although batted around in the press, Ellison’s Grizzlies-to-San Jose idea generated almost zero buzz in the South Bay.
