Down in Los Angeles the Kings get a parade today after winning the Stanley Cup. They hoisted it Monday night at Staples Center and judging from not-easily-impressed LA Times columnist Bill Plaschke, it was a stand-alone sports moment in a city whose name and the words Stanley Cup seem odd in the same sentence. Have you ever seen the actual awarding of the Cup before? Did you have any idea it would be so powerful in its simplicity? Many in my business agree the Stanley Cup ceremony is the greatest trophy presentation in sports and it's not even close. Now I know they are right.
