In Oakland, judge is booked on elder abuse charges

That’s Alameda County Superior Court Judge Paul Seeman, 57, appointed to the bench by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2009. He was arrested at Oakland’s Wiley Manuel Courthouse yesterday and charged with 12 felonies. Prosecutors say the judge embezzled thousands of dollars from an elderly neighbor who lived across the street from him in Berkeley before she died at age 97. At one point, it’s alleged he even tried to bar her from her home, and used her garage to store his classic 1957 Thunderbird. Chronicle
