Police in Morgan Hill get a report that some guy is pushing a bicycle and dragging two dogs along the street. When they show up the dogs, a pit bull and a boxer, are on their sides, panting profusely. Neither can get up. Antonio Palomarez, 36, tells the cops he took the dogs on a 7-mile run without water to get them tired. The boxer survives; the pit bull doesn’t. Palomarez is busted for animal cruelty. Mercury News
