Orchid grower settles environmental lawsuit; lawyer makes light of it

Friday, June 22, 2012

A lawyer for Half Moon Bay Orchids, the orchid farm that just agreed to shell out $139,000 to settle allegations that it installed an illegal irrigation pump and fouled a creek that flows into the ocean, is maintaining a tough line. Here’s how attorney Robert Wong is quoted in the Mercury News about the settlement:

"We look at it as a nuisance type of lawsuit. Allegations can be anything. I can accuse you of murder and that's big deal, but that's a far cry from what may have happened."
