It was a packed house—more than 1,000 fans—at San Rafael’s Albert Field last night to make a bit of local baseball history: the inaugural game of the minor league San Rafael Pacifics of the independent North American Baseball League. Video captures the first pitch. The Marin IJ’s fan story says it was pretty much love at first sight. The Pacifics beat the Sonoma County Grapes 3-1.
