Prop 29 tobacco tax fails, AP says

After two weeks of being too close to call, the AP is calling defeat for Prop 29, the $1-a-pack tobacco tax that Big Tobacco spent $47 million to oppose. “No” votes led by 27,000 votes with 105,000 votes left to count, but there aren’t enough places where “yes” was winning to change the outcome, AP says.
