Report: UC Berkeley close to naming journalism dean

Monday, June 11, 2012

Berkeley J-School TV/DocThe search for a new UC Berkeley journalism school dean is apparently nearing the finish line. Media blogger Jim Romenesko cites an unnamed source as saying the school is expected to name a dean this week among four finalists. They’re said to be: NPR senior Washington editor Ron Elvin; New York Times associate managing editor Jim Schachter; New York University professor and author Ted Conover; and Washington and Lee University professor Ed Wasserman.

Add: Former dean Neil Henry stepped down last August to return to teaching; another ex-dean, Tom Goldstein, has been filling the job temporarily.
