The National Research Council is out with a report and this video predicting dramatic sea level rise along California’s coast by the end of the century, and likely sooner. Among the findings: A 16-inch sea level rise during the next several decades (which is considerably less than what the report says is possible) would inundate runways at SFO and Oakland airports.
More: Mercury News writes about it and provides links to the report and to an earlier episode of KQED’s “Quest,” which explored the issue.
