Supes give Warriors’ arena project a boost

The Board of Supervisors gave Warriors owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber (shown here with Mayor Ed Lee in May) an assist yesterday, waiving the competitive bidding process for developing Piers 30-32 where the club wants to build a new arena by 2017. It means only the Warriors organization can develop the property. From board president David Chiu: “Obviously, this is an opportunity we need to move quickly on.” Chronicle
