Scarcely any attention to it here, but in Modesto there’s uproar over a plan by the Modesto Irrigation District to sell San Francisco some of its water at a high premium. Local farmers, environmentalists, and now politicians are screaming bloody murder. Last night the irrigation district announced it’s delaying a vote on the deal until July 24. Modesto Bee
