On Monday Apple announced it was withdrawing 39 of its products from EPEAT, the industry group that sets standards for energy efficiency, use of toxic materials and disposal. An uproar ensued. Today, the company recanted, saying it had made a mistake. EPEAT’s CEO posted an open letter saying the Cupertino-based company is, indeed, back in the fold.
