Besides having her husband, state treasurer Bill Lockyer, file divorce papers last Friday, former Alameda County supervisor Nadia Lockyer was injured in a solo car crash later the same day. The Mercury News says she was taken to a hospital with facial cuts and complained of pain in her arm after crashing her car into a light pole and a tree while returning to her home in the Hayward hills.
Hayward police sergeant Eric Krimm tells the newspaper that Nadia Lockyer had been talking on her cell phone at the time of the accident, but that no alcohol was involved:
Police aren't sure how fast she was driving, but Krimm said she made an "unsafe turning movement" before the crash. She wasn't cited or arrested.
