Closing arguments in priest-beating trial

Monday, July 2, 2012

Powerful closing arguments today in the trial of Will Lynch, the San Francisco man accused of beating up the Rev. Jerold Lindner, the Catholic priest now living in a church retirement home in Los Gatos and whom Lynch says sexually abused him as a child. The Mercury News’ Tracey Kaplan says the prosecution urged jurors to convict Lynch, even though they may be sympathetic to his reasons. A theme of the defense close: that the wrong man is on trial.
