DA won’t re-try Will Lynch on misdemeanor elder abuse in priest-beating

Thursday, July 12, 2012

Prosecutors won’t re-try Will Lynch, the San Francisco man acquitted in the beating of a priest he says raped him as a child. Santa Clara County DA Jeff Rosen made the call yesterday not to re-file the one misdemeanor charge of elder abuse that he could have, the count on which the jury split 8-4 in favor of conviction. Meanwhile, Rosen continues to face calls to file perjury charges against the priest, the Rev. Jerold Lindner, for testifying during the trial that he didn’t abuse Lynch. Mercury News
