Twitter apologizes for ham-fisted handling of journo’s suspension*

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

NBC, which like others before it, isn’t so much covering the Olympics as reducing the games to a tape-delayed prime-time TV show, appears to have called off the dogs over at Twitter over the suspension of a journalist’s Twitter account. That journo, Guy Adams of Britain’s The Independent—who’s been critical of Olympics coverage—had his account suspended by (NBC Olympics partner) Twitter after he tweeted a network exec’s email address. It was restored today. So far, Twitter isn’t talking about it. Poynter

[Update] Twitter has publicly apologized for a) monitoring Adams’ tweets and b) suggesting that NBC file the complaint that led to Adams’ account being suspended. SF Business Times
