Marin shrink accused of sex with 15-year-old: ‘She lied about her age’

This doesn’t happen often. A 49-year-old San Rafael marriage and family therapist accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl last November is called by a newspaper reporter seeking comment on the newly-leveled charges against him . . . and the therapist speaks. The Marin IJ’s Gary Klein quotes Kevin Marcus Hartsfield, released after being booked into Marin County Jail, as saying:

"Someone, a young woman, lied to me about her age, and there is corroborating evidence to that effect in the form of messages," Hartsfield said. "I don t know why it got to this point because it was a long time ago."
