Earlier today we noted that the Mercury News published its second obituary for the former swim champion and San Rafael resident—three weeks after its first one. Now the Chronicle’s doing it. The Chron’s first obit, bearing former staffer Dwight Chapin’s byline, published July 11. This afternoon SFGate moved the same belated AP obit that’s making the rounds, with headline above.
