Nothing unusual or urgent about today’s news that convicted Death Row murderer Scott Peterson has officially asked the state Supreme Court to overturn his convictions for killing wife Laci Peterson and the couple’s fetus. The court automatically reviews all death sentences in California and it will likely be years before Peterson gets a hearing. But coming 9 1/2 years after the heinous Christmas Eve 2002 murders it’s a reminder how slowly time marches at San Quentin’s death house.
