Maufas declined to address the spending disparity or several questionable purchases identified by The Chronicle. But she said she stands by all her expenses, adding that all expenditures were relevant to her role as an elected official.
Maufas' expenditures included a $114 aluminum keyboard case and a $108 protective screen for a district on-loan iPad, as well as a $264 iPhone.
Her Diners Club credit card statement from May showed an additional $1,610.84 in charges, although they have yet to be approved by the district accounting staff.
