After stonewalling for more than a year, Berkeley Unified School District has finally revealed what it shelled out to defend Berkeley High guidance counselor Anthony Smith, accused of sexually harassing a female student. The tab: $172,697.15, California Watch says. That includes $57,500 to the girl to settle the case after the district declined to fire Smith.
