Cloudy skies for Roberta Gonzales as CBS 5 weather anchor

Saturday, August 4, 2012

The longtime CBS 5 weather personality has been told she’s being bumped from her role as lead weather anchor in favor of a newcomer from a Seattle station, Paul Deanno. Sources at CBS 5, aka KPIX, tell the Mercury News’ Chuck Barney that Gonzales’ contract was up and that she’s been offered a lesser role, perhaps doing weekends, and that she might leave the station altogether.

The story was first reported by the pay-walled industry blog NewsBlues, and blogger Rich Lieberman has been posting about it since Thursday.
