The Chronicle’s star columnist was the guest speaker at a political fundraiser for Congressman John Garamendi Monday at a downtown San Francisco law office. Josh Richman, whose work appears in the Mercury News’ various editions, blogs that tickets went for between $250 and $2,500 while “PAC Friends” were asked to fork over up to $5,000 for Garamendi, the Democrat from Walnut Grove near Sacramento whose district stretches into the East Bay.
