A federal jury this afternoon sided with Apple over rival Samsung in their contentious patent infringement trial in San Jose and awarded Apple more than $1 billion. The jury found all of Apple’s patents to be valid. It said Samsung “willfully” infringed on many of them, including Apple’s so-called “pinch and zoom” patent that’s elemental to the operation of the iPhone and iPad.
