Congressman Pete Stark, who is 80 and trying for a 21st term in November, is also a millionaire many times over. And it’s that last fact that’s giving him fits after the Chronicle’s Carolyn Lochhead reported that his three minor children (with third and current wife Deborah, pictured with Stark and the kids) are receiving Social Security benefits.
It’s all perfectly legal. But it makes for messy politics now that challenger and fellow Democrat Eric Swalwell, the Dublin city councilman, is banging the drum about it.
