Revisiting the FBI’s secret war in Berkeley in the ‘60s

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Seth Rosenfeld SubversivesThe Center for Investigative Reporting’s Seth Rosenfeld has a new book out tracing the FBI’s secret involvement with three iconic figures at UC Berkeley during the 1960s—Ronald Reagan, Mario Savio and Clark Kerr. And if the nugget spun off for California Watch about former Black Panther and FBI informant Richard Aoki (who committed suicide in Berkeley in 2009) is an indication, the book looks like a winner. Its title: “Subversives: the FBI’s War on Student Radicals and Reagan’s Rise to Power.”
