The former Santa Rosa Press-Democrat features editor and reporter who also did stints at the Chronicle and LA Times during a long and varied journalism career has died at age 77. The Press-Democrat says she died of an apparent heart attack July 23 at her son’s home in Lake County. The P-D describes her as one of the Miami Herald’s “first female copyboys” and notes that after her divorce from retired Sonoma State University professor Carl Jensen in 1975 the spirited Annan Jensen changed her first name, Patricia, to Sophie. Her daughter later explained that “she just thought it was a beautiful name.” Obit: Press-Democrat
