State Senate leader cites Mary Hayashi’s ‘values,’ endorses her

Thursday, August 23, 2012

Termed-out assemblywoman and wannabe Alameda County supervisor Mary Hayashi’s shoplifting conviction apparently isn’t getting in the way of some in Sacramento’s Democratic political establishment endorsing her. The photo is of Hayashi with Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, who offers this quote posted to Hayashi’s campaign site:

"Mary brings experience, values and leadership to Alameda County. Mary's work on behalf of women's health, children's mental health and affordable health insurance for working families has earned your vote for County Supervisor."

Others on board are listed after the jump.

They include:

Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez; State Senator Ted Lieu; Assembly Speaker pro Tempore Fiona Ma; Fremont councilwoman Suzanne Lee Chan; Joaquin Rivera, vice president of the Alameda County Board of Education; former San Leandro councilwoman Joyce Starosciak; retired Hayward fire chief Craig Bueno and San Leandro Teachers Association president Jonathan Sherr.
