Warren Winkelstein Jr., AIDS researcher was 90

Pioneering AIDS researcher Warren Winkelstein Jr., who as a UC Berkeley epidemiologist led the landmark 1980s San Francisco Men’s Health Study at a time when little was known about the disease, has died. The professor emeritus and former UC dean died July 21 at his home at Point Richmond of complications from an infection, the university announced. More: UC press release
