When Yahoo News announced former PBS NewsHour political analyst (and before that ABC News political director) David Chalian as its Washington bureau chief last year it was considered a big coup for a struggling online portal in need of news chops. Today, they’ve fired him, after a hot-mic at the GOP convention caught him saying this about Mitt and Ann Romney:
“They’re not concerned at all. They’re happy to have a party with black people drowning” [because of Hurricane Isaac].
The comment was picked up by NewsBusters, a conservative media watchdog site, the NYT says.
