AC Transit caught favoring company with ties to board members

AC Transit’s board, which awarded a $13 million security contract to a firm with ties to two of the East Bay transit agency’s board members during an unusual off-site meeting that wasn’t recorded and without the legally required four votes, has come clean after a rival security company made noise about it.
