Chevron fined $17.3 million for Brazil oil spill

San Ramon-based Chevron has been fined $17.3 million by Brazil’s National Petroleum Agency in connection with last year’s offshore oil spill in which 3,700 barrels of oil leaked into the Atlantic Ocean. Several of the company’s executives have also been charged with various crimes, including altering documents. Wall Street Journal
