DA George Gascon says that he’s “concerned” about allegations of voter fraud in Chinatown by supporters of Mayor Ed Lee during last fall’s mayoral campaign, but that he won’t press criminal charges. Reason? Insufficient evidence, he says. If you recall, the Chronicle reported last October that Lee supporters were staffing a makeshift voting station, placing stencils over ballots as people marked them, and that two independent witnesses said the Lee people were even filling out ballots for voters.
