Just weeks after dumping his state parks chief who was either clueless or culpable in the department’s squirreling away millions of dollars in a secret slush fund for employee payouts amid an historic budget crisis and threatened park closures, Jerry Brown is now praising her. As quoted by PolitiCal, here’s what he says of ousted parks director Ruth Coleman:
“She was a good soldier and she was taking the heat for what I was doing. So I couldn’t tell whether she was getting criticism because she was making the tough cuts or for other reasons."
