Media ethics: One giant leap for NYT, one small step for journalism

The New York Times steps up to the plate and says it will no longer allow sources to edit their quotes, the dirty-little-secret of a practice among some journalists known as ‘quote approval.’ Public editor Margaret Sullivan, who pushed for the policy, writes about the change on the NYT’s opinion pages.
