Media scion Kevin McClatchy comes out—in the NYT*

Kevin McClatchy, chairman of the McClatchy newspaper empire that includes the flagship Sacramento Bee, came out as gay over the weekend—in the New York Times. Blogger Jim Romenesko quotes an unnamed McClatchy journalist as saying: “It would be as though Arthur Sulzberger [chose] to break family news through Bloomberg. I can’t imagine that happening.”
