After 40 years at the Mercury News, columnist Dennis Rockstroh signs off from his Action Line consumer column today. He spent the last 10 years doing the column (which appeared throughout the Bay Area newspaper editions—CoCo Times, Oakland Trib, etc.—that fall under the Merc mantle). He wrote a three-dot column for a decade before that. His close:
So I'm done here, 70 years old and time to fade away.
Action Line will go on hiatus while the editors consider its future.
