The ultra conservative radio ranter and one-time North Beach ‘60s leftist, left the airwaves last night. And he’s happy about it. Savage, who lives in the Bay Area, won a legal battle against Oregon-based Talk Radio Network to get out of his contract and will now be free to negotiate with any takers. His syndicated show, The Savage Nation, was heard on 400 plus stations, although, to his chagrin, San Francisco had become a Savage-free radio zone of late. AP
