Opposition grows to Peninsula jail in Redwood City, Samsung suggests jury misconduct in Apple trial, Darrius Heyward-Bey goes home from the hospital, more.

  • The Raiders’ Darrius Heyward-Bey was released from a hospital Monday after suffering a concussion and strained neck in an endzone collision with Pittsburgh’s Ryan Mundy during Sunday’s 34-31 Raiders victory. AP
  • The homeless encampment near the Caltrain Station in Mission Bay, which officials have tried to break up recently, shows little sign of going anywhere, with some occupants complaining that housing options aren’t accessible to them. Chronicle

  • Samsung suggests in court papers that it will allege jury misconduct in its patent trial with Apple, and has asked a federal judge to set aside the jury’s $1 billion verdict in Apple’s favor. Mercury News
  • A small San Jose solar startup—SoloPower—begins production Thursday in what’s being described as a major step toward its being able to tap a $197 million government loan guarantee under the same program that helped jumpstart failed solar panel maker Solyndra. Reuters
