Sac Bee unveils a digital paywall

The Sacramento Bee unveils a digital paywall, announcing that it will charge readers $69.95 annually for digital-only access to the newspaper’s content and online product. McClatchy marketers take the low road with a tease that advertises digital access for as low as 99 cents a week—but it’s only for the first four weeks.
