Visa headquarters to move from San Francisco to Foster City

Ouch. Visa, the credit card company long headquartered in San Francisco, is moving its HQ (and 100 or so top executives) to Foster City, where it has a newly-renovated campus. San Francisco Business Times’ Ron Leuty says that while the numbers may not be significant, it’s a symbolic blow.

Visa was spun from BankAmericard, which Bank of America established from San Francisco in the 1950s.

Noted: It’s the second piece of bad business news for the city today, counting Gap’s plans to move hundreds of workers to Pleasanton.
