The man who died of an apparent suicide after being struck by a westbound BART train at Embarcadero Station Saturday night was Paul Addis, the playwright and performer who spent time in prison for prematurely setting fire to the giant Burning Man at the eponymous festival in the Nevada desert in 2007. Friends confirmed his identity after Saturday’s tragic event, SF Appeal says. SFist has links to some of Addis’ other exploits, including his alleged attempt to burn down Grace Cathedral.
