Bill Lockyer’s thorny problem: estranged wife’s meth charges

Now that his estranged wife is facing meth charges, state treasurer Bill Lockyer’s chances of getting the next job he wants, heading the Cal State system, could be imperiled. That’s the take from Bloomberg Businessweek, which notes that the 71-year-old Lockyer still has a $2.4 million campaign war chest, if he wants to stay in the political arena. That’s after spewing more than $1 million to buy promote Nadia Lockyer’s election to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors, despite her drug and sex adventures.
