CCSF trustees vote to send ‘department chairs’ back to the classroom

Friday, October 26, 2012

Amid protests from labor leaders, City College of San Francisco’s trustees voted last night to send dozens of department chairs who’ve earned extra pay for administrative duties while being relieved of teaching back to the classroom. The move is aimed at saving $2 million for the nearly bankrupt college under pressure to reform a governance structure criticized as dysfunctional and that is struggling to maintain its accreditation. Chronicle
