Debut for high-profile rookie in tonight’s Warriors opener

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

Not exactly a shocker: The Warriors will start rookie Harrison Barnes at small forward in tonight’s season opener at Phoenix. Whether he proves to be a better player than Brandon Rush or, for that matter, Richard Jefferson, is anybody’s guess. But Barnes, from North Carolina, was the 7th player chosen overall in the NBA draft. Had he not started, now that might have been a surprise. Mercury News
