Doug Boxer fights to keep A’s in Oakland, help Warriors flee to San Francisco

Monday, October 15, 2012

Doug Boxer, the political consultant and son of Senator Barbara Boxer, is the guiding hand behind Let’s Go Oakland, the group trying to keep the A’s from fleeing Oakland. (The group helped to embarrass A’s co-owner Lew Wolff after his ham-fisted decision to shut out fans by not removing the tarps from the Coliseum’s upper deck during the A’s post-season series.)

But Boxer is also signed on as a consultant for the Warriors as they try to flee Oakland for San Francisco. His reported role: to lobby the State Lands Commission and the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission on behalf of the Warriors’ hoped-for waterfront arena. Mercury News
