Under fire for his refusal to open more seats for the playoffs, the A’s co-owner now says the club will remove part of the upper deck tarps from the Coliseum if the team wins tonight’s Game 5 with Detroit and advances to the American League Championship Series. That would provide ticket-hungry fans with another 11,000 seats and increase capacity to 47,505 for the ALCS and the World Series, should the A’s get there. AP
