Fox News apologizes for airing live suicide

It happened on talking head Shepherd Smith’s show, which was airing a car chase on 5-second delay, but which still caught the person being chased killing himself. A Fox veep apologized for the “severe human error” while insisting “we took every precaution.”

Kudos to Poynter’s Al Tompkins for this observation: “One precaution the network could have tried: Not to air the chase at all.” Poynter
