Barry Zito pitched 7 2/3 sterling innings and the Giants, facing elimination for the fourth time in 11 days, shut out the Cardinals 5-0 in St. Louis tonight. In Game 6 Sunday at AT&T Park it will be Ryan Vogelsong pitching against Cris Carpenter, and if there’s a Game 7, ace Matt Cain will be on the mound Monday. Chronicle; Mercury News
